updating older ubuntus | 404 Not Found [IP:aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd]

In

/etc/apt/sources.list

replace

xyz.archive.ubuntu.com with old-releases.ubuntu.com

and

security.ubuntu.com with old-releases.ubuntu.com

and remove (comment out) all

extras.ubuntu.com

lines.
